Wellness Wednesday with Guam Potters

connect with guam potters

Q. What inspired you to start Guam Potters?

A. I have a great passion for art and have been an artist since I was quite young. I great up playing with clay and know it to be an engaging, fun and therapeutic medium. So, I wanted to share it with others. Guam is a very community-oriented place, and I felt a calling to share my artistic gifts and passions with others through opening up an art studio.

Q. What is your mission?

A. My mission is to use art to foster connection, therapy, engagement and a sense of community.

Q. Tell us more about what you offer.

A. The Potter's Studio offers art classes (and gift certificates for art classes) for adults and youth ages 3-17. We also provide free Manam'ko classes (ages 65+) twice a month. Additionally, we sell pottery of different shapes, sizes and types. We make Latte Stones, vases, bowls, cups, etc. Some of our pottery is even made from local clay!

Q. What does wellness mean to you?

A. Wellness is having balance in your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual lives. I find wellness in being able to use my artistic gifts to support my family and our community.
